Since its release, the film House of Gucci has been making people dream. One of the fabulous locations in which the film was shot, Villa Balbiano on Lake Como, will be bookable on Airbnb from 12 noon on Monday 6 December for one night only (on 30 March 2022) for one thousand euros.
Located on the western shore of Lake Como, Villa Balbiano is a majestic Italian jewel that will be the location of Gucci family patriarch Aldo Gucci's home in the film. During the night of 30 March, those who book will have access to the first three floors of the house, accessible by private lift.
Villa Balbiano is an exceptional historical palace that once belonged to the famous Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, who built it at the end of the 16th century and used it as his main residence. A century later it was enlarged and embellished by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini who used the villa to host a gallant and frivolous society where parties, banquets and balls were held non-stop.
Today, Villa Balbiano is one of the largest private residences on the lake, with a large and sumptuous garden, which has been distinguished by the British Society of Garden Designers and which guests will recognise from the new film House of Gucci. An outdoor swimming pool, private pier, and dock also await you.
Inside, its historic interiors have been filled with the finest art objects and furniture from centuries past, sourced from Sotheby's and Christie's. Spectacular 17th-century frescoes painted by the Recchi brothers and Agostino Silva still decorate the walls, untouched by time.
