This time it is true: Villa Oleandra, George Clooney's prestigious home in Laglio on Lake Como, is for sale. Often in recent years, there had been speculation that the illustrious tenant, who brought so much tourism and prestige to the Lombard lake, might part with the much-loved property. But this time it seems almost certain.

The property was purchased by the actor for 10 million euros as a hideaway in 2010 . The current asking price, according to rumours that have yet to be confirmed, is €100 million euros (US$107 million) – i.e. ten times as much.

The reason might well be the same one that previously made him hesitate when buying, namely the excessive paparazzi presence, which is now disturbing his and his wife Amal's peace and quiet too much. Amal prefers the more private Domaine du Canadel property in Provence it seems.

If the actor receives a tempting offer, it might definitively determine the fate of the villa.
