Terminillo
En route to the province of Rieti, you will find another fascinating and easily accessible destination. Mount Terminillo, situated approximately a two-hour drive from the city, towers at an altitude of 2,216 metres. When the snow blankets the landscape, the area offers around 30 kilometres of slopes, with 10 dedicated exclusively to alpine skiing.
For both children and adults seeking to learn to ski, there's a ski school staffed with qualified instructors. Alternatively, for those interested in non-skiing activities, several trails are available for snowshoeing during the cold season. Getting to the ski lifts is particularly easy thanks to a cable car that - almost from the motorway exit - climbs 1,000 metres in 7 minutes.

Ovindoli
Nestled in the heart of the Abruzzo Apennines, Ovindoli is an ideal destination an hour and forty minutes from Rome. The village at the foot of Mount Magnola offers several slopes for alpine skiing, both for beginners and experts, but is also equipped for night skiing and Nordic skiing. Snow parks and ski schools complete the tourist offer of this resort. After skiing, it is also worth taking a walk to the historical centre, whose medieval structure is still clearly visible. Part of the town wall is still standing, as is the ancient Church of San Sebastiano.

The resort of Roccaraso, also located in Abruzzo, is one of the most renowned and popular ski destinations in central Italy, about two and a half hours' drive from Rome. This ski resort offers a wide variety of ski lifts (about 16) for 48 slopes of different difficulty. The ski area includes about 130 kilometres of slopes between Roccaraso, Rivisondoli, Pescocostanzo and Pescasseroli.
Descending towards the town centre, you will find things to see, many shops, bars, restaurants and interesting events are often organised. In addition, the ice rink in the centre allows adults and children to put on skates and have fun even when the weather is inclement.
