In which country do you find the most beautiful houses in the world? This question was attempted to be answered by the estate agent comparison site GetAgent, which conducted an innovative eye-tracking study to reveal which houses around the world are most aesthetically pleasing to the human eye. It turns out that Italy is among the countries with the most beautiful homes globally.
The country with the most beautiful houses in the world is Greece. With a rating of 79.5 out of 100, they range from traditional island houses, many of which are painted white and have bright blue domes, to modern Greek houses built with stone and influenced by Bauhaus and art deco architectural styles.

Right behind in second place, with 78.5 points out of 100, are the beautiful French houses. The study included Bastides and provincial houses, the first of which is an elegant type of stone farmhouse usually located in a courtyard, and the second tends to be a more rustic house made of stone, brick or plaster.
Completing the podium of the top three countries with the most beautiful houses is Thailand. With a score of 76 out of 100, Thai houses range from traditional types made of bamboo and teak that are usually on pillars and have thatched roofs, to modern concrete buildings with tile roofs.

Other noteworthy countries that made it into the top 10 include Canada (fourth), where cosy Craftsman bungalows made of wood contributed to a score of 75.5 points, and Portugal (eighth), where many artistic movements, including Romanesque, Rococo, Portuguese Baroque and many others, have influenced the design of homes over the years, achieving a score of 69.5 points out of 100 in the study.
Victorian houses in the UK are the most aesthetically pleasing on the planet, with a score of 91/100 placing them firmly in first place. These popular houses originated in the 19th century, and their decorative details and spacious interiors attract many people to choose them over more modern constructions.

Tuscan-style houses in Italy follow close behind in second place, with a score of 90 out of 100. With key features including limestone façades and terracotta tiles, these houses are known to blend perfectly into the romantic Tuscan landscape and, according to the studio, are incredibly visually appealing.
Completing the podium are the traditional Indonesian houses. They vary enormously between regions of the country, but tend to have similar characteristics, e.g. many are built on pillars (to prevent flooding and keep the floor away from mosquitoes on the ground, among many other reasons) and many have elaborate roof structures.
Other notable house styles that have appeared among the top 10 most beautiful property types in the world include the Spanish-inspired American Revival style houses (quinte) - an architectural style that remained popular even after the end of the Spanish colonial period in America, and the Mews houses in the UK (octave) - named after the Mews streets, which are usually paved areas with no traffic and are typically British (and pretty).
