If you've ever dreamt of buying a ski chalet in the middle of the Italian mountains, it's time to get saving as 2 Italian ski resorts have made the list of the most expensive ski resorts in the world when it comes to buying property. Cortina d'Ampezzo and Courmayeur (sixth and tenth respectively) have made the top 10 of the most expensive ski resorts in the world, with Gstaad (Switzerland), Whistler-Blackcomb (Canada) and Aspen (USA) on the podium. This has been revealed in a report by the real estate agents, Engel & Völkers.
The top three places, as mentioned, are occupied by Switzerland, Canada and the USA. Gstaad has been revealed as the most expensive ski resort with maximum house prices of 33,900 euros per m2, followed by Whistler-Blackcomb at 25,100 euros per m2. In third place is Aspen with a maximum price of 23,700 euros per m2.
The resort of Kitzbühel in Austria comes in the fourth spot, seeing prime properties for sale at a maximum of 18,700 euros per m2. St. Moritz is in fifth place with its prices per m2 reaching 18,500 euros.
Getting back to the Italian resorts, Cortina d'Ampezzo, in sixth place, has a maximum recorded price of 18,000 euros, while Zermatt and Davos, both Swiss resorts, are in seventh and eighth place respectively, with apartments in privileged positions that can reach up to 16,700 euros and 12,100 euros respectively per m2.
In Vail, the second largest ski resort in the United States, prices peaked at 11,800 euros per square meter. Finally, we find the other Italian contender, Courmayeur, in tenth place where the highest price per m2 reaches 11,000 euros.
